In a city like New York, it can be easy to get caught up in our own stories, pouring our energy into daily survival and personal growth. As followers of Jesus, we delight in opportunities to step out of our individual lives to connect with others in meaningful relationships that overflow into tangible love and service to our communities. We connect through regular parish rhythms of meeting together and acts of service and renewal.
2 Chronicles 7:14 says
"if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land".
We are made to worship. Every Wednesday we gather together at Renew Queens for worship and prayer from 7:30pm - 9:30pm. Anyone is welcome to come to Core Night. In fact, we hope to see you there. If you are planning to make Core Night a part of your regular rhythm, please click HERE at any time to sign up.
Hebrews 10 tell us to
"consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together".
Core nights are where we meet together for corporate worship and prayer, but we take time weekly in that very same space to meet with our Core Communities. Core communities are a small group of individuals, usually 3-4, that make a 12 month commitment to join one another in prayer, growth, and accountability toward mission. Click HERE if you would like to register for a core community, or if you would like to sign-up to be placed in one.
Our church participates in smaller home gatherings along with with regular rhythms of corporate worship.
Based on the model scripture gives us in Acts 2, life groups are small neighborhood gatherings that meet in apartments in Long Island City and Astoria. These groups meet once a week to share meals, pray with and for one another, study the Scriptures, and have meaningful discussions about life and what it means to follow Jesus.
